![]() ![]() Once at the top the view was truly stunning. The tallest light house in Northern Europe. Not realising just how flat this area was Spurn offers something know one should miss if you visit East Yorkshire. A separate Safari can be taken covering the military encampment and gun emplacements. Obviously he was geared towards the natural history of the reserve but he had good knowledge of the human history to. Our driver and tour guide was incredible ( sadly his name I have forgotten ). Our group had elderly and people with some disabilities that got on and of easily. The bench seats have been removed and proper seats with seat belts installed. Being nearly a 4 mile walk from the road I was ecstatic to find out they had invested in a 4x4 Unimog army lorry to do a Safari to get you there.Ī lot of planning and thought has gone into this. Put a little study time in and found out it’s now a nature reserve being managed by Yorkshire Nature. I had this burning desire to get out there. ![]() What stood out for me geographically was Spurn Head. I looked up the local area for a place to stay and things to do having never been to this part of Yorkshire ever. Needed to take my parents to Hull for a reunion from Devon. ![]()
